If we don't own the particular publication you need, we can try to obtain a photocopy of an article or chapter for you from another source. Unfortunately we cannot borrow original items, including books, theses, videos,etc. from other sources for you.
Standard Service*
$10.00 plus incurred charges, copyright (if applicable) and delivery. Estimated range $30.00 - $50.00 per article.
Rush Service*
$20.00 plus incurred charges, copyright (if applicable) and delivery. Estimated range $50.00 - $70.00 per article.
If the item is held by another University of Minnesota-Twin Cities library, you may contact ESTIS directly for faster service.
Additional Fees
*Additional charges may apply for the location of references that require extensive searching. Reference time is $60.00 per hour billed in 15-minute increments.
- Citation Clarification: We will charge research time to clarify citations that do not include correct author(s), title, journal title, volume, page and date. Charges average $7.00 per citation, but especially poor citations may exceed this cost. Research time is charged at $1.00/minute, plus any applicable rush fees.
- Copyright: BIS operates in accordance with the U.S. Copyright Law (Title 17, US Code) and is a member of the Copyright Clearance Center. Copyright fees will be charged as incurred, as per CCC guidelines. (See copyright statement, below.)
- Delivery:
- 1st Class Mail: $5.00 per package
- Fax: $3.00 per article local, $5.00 per article long distance, $10.00 per article international
- Email delivery: $5.00 per article
- Ariel delivery: $5.00 per article
- Courier, FedEx, and other special delivery methods: price varies and includes a $5.00 handling fee. Call for details.
